Where did Vanessa Paradis meet Johnny Depp?
Vanessa Paradis is a French singer and actress who met Depp in a hotel in Paris. They were at the bar or a cocktail lounge (reports differ) when Johnny looked across the room and saw her. Johnny Depp has said that he “took one look at her, especially her neck and had to go meet her”.
This started a torrid love affair between the two with a baby conceived just 3 months later. How romantic is that!
They had met in 1993 and when they touched hands something electric went through Johnny. They both were seeing other people at the time so they were not able to start seeing each other.
The next time they met was 1998 and Johnny wasn’t seeing Kate Moss or Winona Rider. Johnny went to France to do the The Ninth Gate directed by Roman Polanski. Johnny quotes “I was in the lobby of the hotel, getting messages. I turned around and across the lobby saw this back. She had on a dress with an exposed back. I thought, Wow. Suddenly the back turned and she looked at me. I walked right over, and there were those eyes again. I knew it was her. She asked, Do you remember me? I said, Oh yeah. We had a drink, and it was over with at that point. I knew I was in big trouble”.
More than anything this relationship was different than any Johnny had had before
Johnny quotes “we started dating I worked a long, long day and night, and I came home, back to my apartment in Paris, at three or four in the morning. Vanessa was there, and she was cooking for me. That’s not to say that a woman must cook for a man that’s not what I'm saying but it took me by surprise. It was a whole new ball game for me. Id never experienced that before. It was like she was a woman not afraid to be a woman. I hope that doesn’t sound weird or sexist, because its not. I’m totally in agreement that women are the stronger, smarter, more evolved sex.”
Vanessa became pregnant 3 months after meeting Johnny.
Vanessa Paradis is one of those women. She is beautiful, accomplished at singing and acting and obviously taking care of her man and his children.
